Location: Mason City, Iowa; candidates must reside in the Mason City area. Employees cannot currently reside in Alaska, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, or Puerto Rico. Relocation candidates may indicate their willingness to relocate.
Base compensation: $22–$29, based on skills and experience.

What you will do
- Assist with field surveys for transportation, municipal, and land development projects.
- Collect field data with GPS and Total Station equipment alongside survey crews.
- Reduce survey data and create digital terrain models and surfaces.
- Prepare right-of-way plats, certified survey maps, boundary and topographic surveys, and construction staking documents.
- Support easement descriptions, boundary research, and courthouse and title research.
Requirements
- Ability to work overtime, travel for projects and meetings, and stay overnight when needed.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a survey team with strong communication skills.
- Ability to walk and climb over rough terrain, carry up to 50 pounds, and work outdoors for 8–12 hours in varying weather conditions.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and driving record meeting ’s Driving Program requirements.
- Must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer without current or future visa sponsorship.
Nice to have
- Two years of field or office land surveying experience.
- Experience with boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, legal descriptions, computations, and plan interpretation.
- Experience with Trimble survey equipment, GPS, Total Stations, and survey drafting.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Trimble Business Center, and Microsoft Office.
