Bridge EIT/Designer (Bridge Engineering)

What you will do

• Participate in roadway, rail, marine, and other transportation bridge designs.
• Develop structural design plans, details, load calculations, and quantity takeoffs.
• Review shop drawings and field submittals while supporting the bridge design group and related disciplines.
• Perform bridge inspections, structural load rating calculations, and construction observation as needed.
• Use structural engineering and detailing software to support project delivery under Professional Engineer supervision.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate required; candidates hired without EIT certification will be titled Designer and expected to obtain it for career progression.
• Experience with MS Office, MathCAD, AutoCAD, LARSA, and prestressed concrete design.
• Knowledge of structural analysis and bridge design software, including Bluebeam Revu, LEAP Bridge Enterprise, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, MDX, SAP2000, CSiBridge, or comparable tools.
• Knowledge of Bentley OpenBridge Designer and OpenBridge Modeler and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil 3D.
• Strong computer skills for structural layout and design, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in civil or structural engineering.
• Experience with MicroStation, MIDAS, STAAD, OpenBridge Designer, finite element analysis, and other structural design programs.
