Structural Engineer (Bridge)

Location: Burlington, Washington, USA. The work is predominantly office based, with occasional field work required, including work at heights, in confined spaces, near highway traffic, and on aerial lift platforms.

Salary: $85,000–$110,000 per year, with eligibility for annual bonuses.

What you will do

• Assist with managing, designing, and detailing bridge projects of varied sizes and complexity.
• Perform bridge design, seismic assessment, in-service inspection, load ratings, repairs, and rehabilitations.
• Prepare technical designs and details using applicable bridge standards and analysis tools.
• Network and communicate with private, local, state, and federal agency clients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams and support offices in Olympia, Seattle, Spokane, and Portland.
• Follow safety procedures when performing required field activities.

Requirements

• BSCE degree with an emphasis in bridge or structural engineering; MSCE is preferred.
• Three to five years of bridge engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer license.
• Strong technical, organizational, leadership, supervisory, writing, and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated, independent, energetic, and eager to learn.
• This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with AASHTO Bridge Design Specifications and WSDOT, ITD, or ODOT standards, manuals, and protocols.
• Experience with AutoCAD, PGSuper, Risa 3D, MathCAD, and Bluebeam Revu.
• Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary design team.
