Senior Manager Field Applications Engineer (FAE) (Digital Power)

Location: San Jose, California, United States; onsite role with no remote work available

Salary: $178,000–$220,000 annual pay, plus bonus opportunities

What you will do

• Lead strategic datacenter customer engagements covering AI accelerators, CPUs, servers, and networking systems.
• Own system-level power architecture programs from concept through production, including schematic reviews, layout feedback, validation, bring-up, sequencing analysis, transient evaluation, and debug.
• Provide technical support for digital multiphase controllers, power modules, VRMs, and server-class power delivery architectures.
• Troubleshoot complex power issues using oscilloscopes, current probes, electronic loads, and transient analysis tools.
• Drive issue escalations and coordinate resolutions with internal engineering, Product Line, Marketing, Sales, and global FAE teams.
• Lead, mentor, and develop FAE team members while managing resource allocation, performance reviews, onboarding, and technical training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of experience in power electronics, digital multiphase power delivery, server or AI platform power, or related hardware systems.
• Hands-on experience with power modules, digital multiphase controllers, VRMs, and high-current, low-voltage conversion for datacenter platforms.
• Strong lab-based debug skills using oscilloscopes, current probes, electronic loads, and transient analysis tools.
• Experience with system bring-up, validation, or debug for server, AI accelerator, or networking hardware.
• 2+ years of people leadership experience and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to varied audiences.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience supporting hyperscale datacenter customers and AI/ML accelerators, CPUs, or high-end networking platforms.
• Familiarity with PMBus, telemetry systems, and digital control for multiphase power.
• Experience managing multiple programs and developing early-career engineers.
• Cross-functional leadership experience with Product Line, Marketing, Sales, or Systems Engineering organizations.
