Manager, Systems Engineering

Location: Milpitas, United States; travel to company locations, customer meetings, technical reviews, and industry events may reach approximately 25%.

Salary: $147,500–$228,560 per year, depending on location, skills, knowledge, and experience.

What you will do

• Translate customer application needs into system-level requirements, use cases, reference architectures, and product opportunity inputs.
• Support customers and field application engineers with product-fit discussions, technical tradeoffs, opportunity qualification, and design-in support.
• Lead teardowns, competitive reviews, technical analysis, experiments, and system-level validation, including test planning and results documentation.
• Identify product gaps, roadmap inputs, and application requirements for data centers, industrial power, building automation, aerospace and defense, and energy infrastructure.
• Create application notes, reference designs, training materials, technical presentations, white papers, and sales-enablement content.
• Lead cross-functional work through influence in a matrix organization and support the Director of Systems Engineering.

Requirements

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline is required.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in systems or application engineering, electronics product design, electrical systems, or related technical roles.
• Hands-on experience with system-level development, integration, validation, testing, or troubleshooting.
• Customer-facing or internal-customer-facing technical experience in applications engineering, technical marketing, product engineering, or strategic technical support.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to explain unfamiliar technical problems clearly.
• Experience working in cross-functional and matrixed organizations is required.

Nice to have

• M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Systems Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• Experience with power electronics, circuit protection, switching, data center power, industrial electrical systems, aerospace and defense, or energy infrastructure.
• Multi-disciplinary and multi-industry experience.
