Maintenance Leader (Manufacturing)

Location: Bolton, United Kingdom; onsite manufacturing role. Working hours: Monday–Friday, 08:00–16:00, 40 hours per week including breaks.

What you will do

• Lead maintenance operations in a manufacturing environment covering mixing, coating, embossing, logging, slitting, and packaging.
• Ensure safe, compliant, and audit-ready processes and equipment.
• Manage departmental budgets, forecasts, KPIs, delivery performance, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Lead root cause analysis, implement permanent fixes, and identify opportunities for optimization, automation, and efficiency improvements.
• Support engineering upgrades and small- to mid-scale site projects.
• Lead, coach, and develop three Shift Engineers while collaborating with EHS, Quality, R&D, Finance, Supply Chain, HR, suppliers, and customers.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in manufacturing, leadership, safety, compliance, and Lean Manufacturing.
• Time-served engineer with a strong electrical or mechanical bias.
• Minimum HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, negotiation, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in manufacturing software, ERP/MRP systems including SAP, and data analysis tools.
• Ability to work hands-on and represent the company professionally with suppliers and customers.
