Investment Data Scientist

Location: New York, NY, United States

Salary: $190,000–$220,000 base salary per year, plus potential annual discretionary incentive compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Analyze complex datasets to support investment due diligence and identify risks and opportunities.
• Partner with investment teams, portfolio-company executives, and company leaders on data-driven growth and efficiency initiatives.
• Develop data-centric strategies, analytical tools, and data products that improve investment processes and scale deal support.
• Clean, integrate, and interrogate diverse datasets while performing feature engineering and advanced analytics.
• Conduct hypothesis testing, statistical analysis, and machine learning modeling.
• Manage third-party resources and oversee value-creation projects from strategy through execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; a concentration in computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, or another STEM field is preferred.
• At least 8 years of relevant technical experience in data science.
• Advanced Python and SQL skills for complex data analysis.
• Proficiency in machine learning, large-scale datasets, data visualization, and statistical modeling.
• Understanding of investment, financial valuation, and commercial growth principles.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud computing and Git, plus strong problem-solving, communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.

• Previous experience with hedge funds.
