Staff Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Remote - USA

Salary: USD 136,000–231,000 annually for all other US locations; USD 156,400–265,700 annually in the San Francisco Bay Area. The role may also be eligible for a bonus.

What you will do

• Analyze and model large-scale broadband telemetry and time-series data, including throughput, latency, packet loss, utilization, and device-level metrics.
• Develop and validate models for churn prevention, customer acquisition, anomaly detection, performance forecasting, fault classification, capacity prediction, and network health scoring.
• Build scalable ML pipelines and integrate models into cloud-native analytics pipelines and production environments.
• Apply feature engineering, data preprocessing, change-point detection, and probabilistic modeling to noisy, incomplete, and delayed broadband data.
• Design experiments and evaluate the operational and business impact of analytics on network performance and subscriber experience.
• Communicate insights through dashboards, reports, and presentations while collaborating with data science, engineering, platform, product, and customer-facing teams.

Requirements

• Strong foundation in statistics, probability, and linear algebra.
• Experience with large-scale time-series, telemetry, broadband network, and service data.
• Experience with regression, classification, clustering, dimensionality reduction, forecasting, anomaly detection, and change-point detection.
• Strong Python and SQL skills, with familiarity with NumPy, pandas, SciPy, and scikit-learn.
• Experience with model evaluation, validation, performance metrics, data preprocessing, feature engineering, exploratory data analysis, and maintainable, testable code.
• Strong problem-solving, written communication, verbal communication, and data visualization skills.

Nice to have

• PhD in Data Science or Computer Science.
• Experience with broadband access networks, subscriber analytics, network intelligence, Fiber/PON, Cable/DOCSIS, or Wi-Fi telemetry.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, ML deployment frameworks, MLOps, CI/CD, model monitoring, streaming data, or large-scale data ecosystems.
• Publications or applied research in network analytics, anomaly detection, forecasting, or machine learning.
