Data Scientist II - CX Analytics

Location: Portland, Maine, USA; campus-based role

Base salary: $73,300–$150,500 per year

What you will do

• Design and execute analytical solutions using optimization, simulation, data mining, and statistical methods.
• Integrate high-volume data from DB2, SQL Server, Web API, Teradata, and other sources for ad hoc analyses and larger studies.
• Validate, aggregate, and reconcile data to create modeling-ready data frameworks.
• Construct and tune predictive models for forecasting, risk identification, scoring, clustering, and explanation of observed events.
• Interpret results and communicate findings and business value to managers and senior leadership.
• Automate analytical solutions and support their integration into existing business processes while mentoring junior data science peers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• Approximately four years of professional or equivalent relevant experience is preferred.
• Expertise in at least two core data science areas, including programming and automation, data visualization, statistics and statistical modeling, or data extraction, transformation, and loading.
• Experience with complex SQL queries, multi-source data integration, database exploration, APIs, automated analytics pipelines, and machine learning workflows through model deployment.
• Strong communication, analytical, prioritization, collaboration, and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects independently.
• Experience in financial services and the ability to coach or mentor team members are preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with DevOps, process automation, data mining, web scraping, or object-oriented software.
• Leadership experience with senior management and executive stakeholders.
• Entrepreneurial, results-oriented problem-solving approach and curiosity about emerging statistical methods and tools.
