Certified Peer Specialist (Behavioral Health)

Location: New York, New York, United States. Field-based role with travel to client sites and designated locations, occasional office attendance, and up to 80% travel. Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the posting location unless an accommodation is granted.

Salary: $25.71–$38.57 per hour.

What you will do

• Coordinate care management activities focused on member wellness and recovery.
• Engage members and families in building supportive recovery networks.
• Develop and deliver onsite psychiatric discharge planning education at Recovery and Resiliency sites.
• Collaborate with Stabilization Teams on member advocacy, barrier resolution, and service transitions.
• Maintain contact with assigned members and providers to assess responses to services.
• Support staff with decision-making and problem-solving related to member care.

Requirements

• AA/AS degree and at least two years of experience in health services, behavioral health, or peer support services, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid, active certified recovery specialist/coach certification and/or peer/family support specialist certification required.
• Knowledge of care coordination and case management concepts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work in the field in New York and travel to client sites, with up to 80% travel required.

Nice to have

• Peer Support Specialist certification.
• BA/BS or MBA.
• Spanish bilingual ability.
