Salary: $36/hour plus bonus structure; pay varies depending on credentials and education.

What you will do

  • Coordinate care between behavioral health clinicians, primary care providers, hospitals, and other community healthcare organizations.
  • Facilitate intake admissions, reassessments, referrals, treatment planning, and transitions to appropriate levels of care.
  • Manage a patient caseload, monitor progress toward treatment goals, and provide follow-up counseling and discharge contacts.
  • Maintain complete patient records, document all contacts, and prepare reports for reimbursement, justice-system, emergency-service, and other specialized needs.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support when primary counselors are unavailable.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings, outreach activities, program implementation, and required training.

Requirements

  • Current board-approved and active licensure in the District of Columbia as a physician, psychologist, LICSW, LGSW, APRN, RN, LISW, LPC, LMFT, or LGPC.
  • Relevant experience in substance abuse treatment, treatment planning, and human or social services.
  • Knowledge of current drug abuse treatment information, especially opioid maintenance treatment.
  • Knowledge of community resources, third-party payer billing, and documentation requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, judgment, organization, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and respond appropriately in stressful situations.
