Electrical Engineer (Naval Machinery)

Salary: CAD 85,000–100,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and maintain electronic systems for military naval machinery.
• Analyze customer needs and define electrical system requirements, capacity, and cost.
• Prepare estimates, technical write-ups, project plans, test procedures, qualification tests, and technical reports.
• Support troubleshooting, production efforts, set-to-work activities, and occasional on-site field service.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, test, manufacturing, production, product management, customer support, and project management teams.
• Inspect electronic systems for safety and regulatory compliance and develop testing and maintenance procedures.

Requirements

• 5–8+ years of hands-on electrical engineering experience.
• Experience designing analogue and digital circuits for machine automation.
• Practical knowledge of schematics, PCB layout, electrical and electronics assembly packaging, and control logic methodologies.
• Experience with motor controls, operator panel layout, cabling, and electro-hydraulic controls.
• Ability to organize and lead projects through planning, design, troubleshooting, qualification testing, and completion.
• Work must comply with the Quality Management System, Health & Safety procedures, and applicable regulations.

Nice to have

• Experience with naval or airborne machinery, including winches and large projects.
• Experience working with government and international customers.
• Experience with EMI standard MIL-STD-461.
