Senior Electrical Engineer (Water/Wastewater)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; hybrid role

Salary: CAD 110,000–125,000 base compensation annually.

What you will do

• Plan, design, and implement electrical, instrumentation, and control systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and related infrastructure.
• Develop single-line diagrams, load calculations, panel schedules, power distribution designs, P&IDs, control narratives, I/O lists, and functional descriptions.
• Design, program, configure, and troubleshoot instrumentation, SCADA, PLC, HMI, and industrial communication systems.
• Support process engineering evaluations, equipment selection, facility condition assessments, backup power design, and system optimization.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and process engineers on integrated facility designs and provide client-facing technical support.
• Support site assessments, startup, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, technical reporting, specifications, cost estimates, and construction documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• P.Eng. license in Ontario required.
• 8–10+ years of experience in water/wastewater or industrial process facilities.
• Experience with PLC/SCADA platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Schneider, GE, Ignition, or Wonderware.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design tools.
• Strong understanding of process instrumentation and control logic, with a collaborative and ethical approach to technical delivery.

• Experience with roadway lighting and signalization.
