Manager, SCADA Engineering (BESS)

Location: Greenwood Village, Colorado, United States; occasional travel to project sites and vendor facilities is required.

Annual base salary: $150,000–$170,000, plus potential year-end bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead SCADA and controls engineering, design reviews, integration, and implementation across renewable energy projects.
• Define technical specifications and support EPC scoping and vendor selection for controls and monitoring systems.
• Develop integration strategies connecting BESS with EMS, BMS, PCS, plant controllers, and central monitoring platforms.
• Create points lists, alarm and data mapping documentation, and tag naming conventions.
• Oversee alarming configuration, data historian setup, control logic verification, FAT, and site commissioning.
• Troubleshoot integration issues, validate telemetry, and standardize SCADA templates and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• At least five years of relevant experience in SCADA, controls, or power systems integration.
• Experience with utility-scale battery energy storage systems and proficiency in points lists, alarm configurations, and data mapping.
• Strong knowledge of SCADA architectures, industrial communication protocols, data management, testing, and commissioning.
• Strong communication, documentation, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to travel occasionally to project sites and vendor facilities.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in engineering, controls, or renewable energy systems.
• Familiarity with NERC/CIP, cybersecurity, and utility telemetry requirements.
