Focus on designing complex substation structures and foundations, coordinating multidisciplinary teams across multiple offices, and mentoring junior engineers.

What you will do
- Design, review, calculate, and detail steel structures for high-voltage switchyard and substation projects up to 500kV.
- Design and review foundations including drilled piers, spread footings, and driven piles using industry-standard software.
- Support substation layouts, plans, elevations, details, bills of materials, and construction specifications.
- Perform quality checks and project reviews in accordance with Quality Management Systems.
- Coordinate with project managers, power delivery engineers, and teams across multiple office locations.
- Direct, mentor, train, or supervise EITs and CADD/design staff, and contribute to technical presentations and standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the position location, such as a PE or P.Eng.
- At least 3 years of technical design experience with high-voltage electrical switchyard and substation projects, including steel structural and foundation design.
- Knowledge of AISC-360, ASCE-7, ACI-318, NESC, NEC, IEEE, ANSI, ASCE-113, and related industry standards.
- Experience with structural and power-sector design software such as STAAD, RISA, MFAD, L-Pile, PLS, Mathcad Prime, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, or Revit.
- Previous project execution experience in the Power Market Sector, with strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, collaborate across locations, and travel when required.

- Previous experience with a consulting firm.
- Experience developing technical papers or presentations for industry conferences and events.
