Structural Engineer III

Location: Hybrid role in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA

What you will do

• Lead discipline-specific structural design scopes and budgets for small to mid-sized projects.
• Develop construction drawing packages and specifications with minimal oversight.
• Conduct field surveys and site walks, prepare construction field reports, and document non-compliant existing conditions.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Lead squad checks and discipline reviews to maintain design quality.
• Mentor Engineer I and Designer I/II staff and support system design programming, master planning, proposals, and internal training.

Requirements

• ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in Structural or Architectural Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in a design firm or similar environment.
• Proficiency with structural design software such as RISA, Enercalc, or Tedds.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
• Familiarity with structural material codes and applicable building standards.
• Background screening is required.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or license in progress.
• Experience coordinating with construction trade partners and vendors.
• Strong structural design calculation skills with limited supervision.
• Structural systems troubleshooting experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
