Substations Structural Engineer (7+ Years)

Location: Hybrid work from the Woodland Hills, California office, USA

Base salary: $100,000–$150,000+ annually, based on experience

What you will do

• Design and detail steel and concrete substation structures and foundations.
• Perform structural analysis, design, and detailing for commercial and institutional buildings.
• Coordinate structural drawings with architects, owners, contractors, and project teams.
• Lead engineers, designers, and drafters in executing structural designs.
• Interface with contractors during construction and resolve project issues.
• Manage client relationships, project profitability, and departmental growth objectives.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of experience designing concrete and steel structures.
• Professional experience in substation structure and foundation design.
• B.S. degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Licensed engineer able to work independently with appropriate engineering oversight.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in larger multidisciplinary project teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• PE or SE registration in any state, especially California Structural Engineer registration.
• M.S. degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.
• Experience with SCE, LADWP, or PG&E substation standards.
• Multidisciplinary project management experience.
• Experience with 3D modeling software such as ETABS, RISA, or SAFE.
