Maintenance Technician (Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite R&D laboratory environment; nearest major market: San Francisco; nearest secondary market: Oakland

Salary: $34.52–$57.79 per hour

What you will do

• Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on reactors, pumps, valves, mixers, agitators, storage tanks, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Maintain facility and production systems, including HVAC, building exteriors, security systems, fire safety systems, and chemical process equipment.
• Support equipment modifications, fabrication of specialty parts and fixtures, vendor coordination, and small-scale technical projects.
• Maintain clean work areas and organize spare-parts inventory.
• Diagnose critical spares and general equipment issues while contributing to continuous improvement.
• Perform general maintenance such as painting, carpentry, HVAC filter replacement, and lighting fixture repairs.

Requirements

• Mechanical engineering degree with some electrical engineering expertise.
• Over five years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical and plumbing issues and replace or install industrial electrical components.
• Experience diagnosing electrical problems, performing root cause analysis, and implementing repairs.
• Ability to use testing equipment, read schematics, and identify faults in electrical systems and machinery.
• Work in an R&D laboratory and plant environment requires appropriate workwear, eye protection, and PPE.
