Maintenance Technician (Mechanical Maintenance)

Location: Iowa City, Iowa, United States; onsite, 2nd shift, approximately 3:00pm–11:00pm

Salary: $22.37–$26.37 per hour, plus a $2.00 per hour shift differential

What you will do

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain specialized forms and labels machinery.
• Perform preventive maintenance, equipment audits, rebuilds, calibrations, testing, and standard-setting procedures.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, including AC/DC circuits, and resolve routine equipment issues.
• Recommend repair strategies and priorities while supporting operators with minor maintenance problems.
• Lead or assist with engineering upgrades, facilities maintenance, and improvement projects.
• Maintain repair records, train technicians and team members, and support Level 3 Maintenance Technicians.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Typically four to five years of relevant experience.
• Strong mechanical reasoning, communication, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience with electronics, pneumatics, and intermediate AC/DC electrical troubleshooting using a multimeter.
• Ability to use Windows-based PC applications and fabrication equipment such as saws, drills, cutters, grinders, torches, and welders.
• Ability to work afternoon and evening hours on the 2nd shift is required.
