Principal Product Validation & Reliability Engineer (Mobile Machinery)

Location: Hagerstown, Maryland, United States; travel required for jobsite visits and customer meetings.

Pay range: $82,900–$134,300 per year across U.S. locations.

What you will do

• Plan and execute product validation, reliability, regulatory, and functional safety activities for MEWPs and telescopic material handlers.
• Review engineering systems, design, test, and software documentation, including requirements, verification activities, and test plans.
• Develop test procedures and collect and analyze field duty-cycle data to support validation.
• Assess hazards, regulatory impact, reliability characteristics, and tradeoffs across machine components and subsystems.
• Conduct and document risk assessments and analyses of changes affecting safety, compliance, and reliability.
• Perform safety-related control-system analysis and prepare Technical Construction Files for European and Australian certification.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• 8+ years of Reliability, Maintenance & Managing Risk experience.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of construction and mobile machinery vehicles and related systems.
• Working knowledge of electronic and hydraulic machine control systems.
• Experience with component, system, software, and hardware design, verification, and validation processes.
• Proficiency in hazard analysis, risk assessment, FMEA, and safety-system analysis using EN ISO 13849 and IEC/EN 62061.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of EN ISO 12100 and applicable EU, Australian, North American, and global machinery standards.
• Experience with MEWP and telescopic material-handler standards, including ANSI 92.20, EN280-1, CSA B354.6, AS/NZS 1418.10, B56.6, EN1459-1, and AS 10896.1.
