Sr Field Service Technician - GSE: Chicago (GSE)

Location: Onsite mainly at Chicago International Airport, Illinois, United States; travel outside ORD required 40–50% of the time to other U.S. airports

Salary: $73,200–$117,800 per year, plus hourly overtime and per diem for nights spent away from home

What you will do

• Provide hands-on service for aircraft tow tractors, container loaders, aircraft deicers, baggage and cargo transport vehicles, and other ICE or EV ground support equipment.
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Interface with PLC systems to upload and download programs, troubleshoot logic, and adjust controls.
• Review manuals, technical documentation, and schematics to perform accurate service procedures.
• Document work orders, resolve service issues, and report completed work.
• Support OEM testing, equipment upgrades, customer orientation, and safe operating procedures; mentor junior technicians when needed.

Requirements

• Previous ground support equipment (GSE) experience is required.
• High school diploma or GED and five or more years of relevant experience in machine assembly, light fabrication, or equivalent work experience.
• Proficiency in electrical diagnostics and repair, mechanical systems and component-level service, and hydraulic diagnostics and repair.
• Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
• Ability to obtain a passport if necessary and travel outside ORD 40–50% of the time.
