Software Engineer 1/2 (Java)

Location: Annapolis Junction, Maryland, United States; requires current Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable polygraph, and U.S. citizenship.

Annual salary: $130,000–$270,000, depending on years of experience.

What you will do

• Analyze requirements and design, develop, test, and maintain Java and Angular applications.
• Build and support RESTful APIs, service integrations, and data access components for relational databases.
• Modernize applications through Spring Boot migrations, microservices, database modernization, and containerization.
• Deploy and support containerized applications in Kubernetes across cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
• Participate in architecture and code reviews, troubleshooting, technical design, and process improvement.
• Develop automated tests, support CI/CD pipelines, maintain documentation, and provide backup database administration.

Requirements

• Current Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable polygraph.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• At least seven years of software engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university.
• Experience with Java enterprise applications, Spring Boot, Angular, RESTful APIs, and relational databases.
• Experience with Docker or Podman, Kubernetes, automated testing, GitLab CI/CD, DevSecOps, Jira, Confluence, XML, or JSON.
