Senior Software Engineer (Java)

Location: On-site at Schriever SFB near Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States

Salary: $127,000–$190,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Maintain Java software that establishes status and control connections for ground equipment.
• Maintain scheduling and orbit-calculation software for on-orbit contacts.
• Develop launch-operations software with trajectory calculations for SpaceX and ULA vendors.
• Build React-based operator interfaces and microservices for processing data from vendor interfaces.
• Deploy containerized applications in Kubernetes environments and extend existing capabilities for customer requests.
• Collaborate with users, customers, management, and engineering personnel on software engineering support.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph required.
• Undergraduate degree in computer science or a related field.
• At least five years of software engineering and coding experience.
• Proficiency in Java and knowledge of Spring Boot or a similar framework.
• Ability to work on-site during first-shift regular hours; scheduled workload is 40 hours per week.
• Ability to interface effectively with users, customers, management, and engineering personnel.

Nice to have

• Experience with Java IDEs and GitLab or similar CI/CD tools.
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and SQL databases.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Ansible automation scripts.
• Experience with C++ programming.
