AI Engineer III (AI)

Location: Hybrid position in Plano, TX (first preference), Memphis, TN, or Pittsburgh, PA. Candidates within 50 miles of a hirify.global campus must work on-site several times per week.

Salary: $122,778–$165,750 annually in Plano and Pittsburgh; $116,639–$157,463 annually in Memphis.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain multi-agent systems, deterministic workflows, autonomous tool-calling pipelines, and agent memory layers using Google ADK and Python.
• Build RAG architectures, ingestion, chunking, embedding, and semantic data pipelines using Vertex AI Vector Search, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, and Cloud Run Jobs.
• Deploy and operate AI agents on Vertex AI Agent Engine, Cloud Run, and Google Kubernetes Engine.
• Create automated evaluation suites, regression tests, prompt and context optimization pipelines, and production telemetry.
• Define SLOs and implement tracing, latency monitoring, incident response, rollback strategies, and operational readiness for AI services.
• Secure tools, APIs, and data mutations with least-privilege IAM, VPC Service Controls, Secret Manager, and safety guardrails.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is highly preferred.
• 3–5+ years of experience designing and shipping machine learning models to production, including leadership of a significant ML-powered feature.
• Expert Python skills, including asynchronous programming, typing, structured data modeling, and FastAPI development.
• Hands-on experience with Google ADK, Agent CLI, Gemini models, agent orchestration, MCP, tool integrations, and session or memory layers.
• Experience with Vertex AI, Cloud Run, GKE, BigQuery, Firestore, Cloud Storage, Docker, Artifact Registry, and Cloud Build.
• Ability to work in the specified hybrid locations and attend a hirify.global site several times per week when located within 50 miles of a campus.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Experience with multimodal agents, new Google agent ecosystem capabilities, and reasoning paradigms.
