AI Software Engineer

Location: Tysons, Virginia, United States; on-site. U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for a DoD Secret clearance are required.

Salary: $120,000–$150,000 annually.

What you will do

• Prototype, customize, and refine generative AI and LLM-powered capabilities.
• Develop agentic AI systems, including model selection, agent creation, tool calling, response synthesis, and background agents.
• Collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, data scientists, and stakeholders to deliver operational AI systems.
• Automate model deployment using infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, containers, and cloud platforms.
• Monitor deployed AI systems, tune performance, and improve reliability and scalability.
• Write clean, documented, reproducible code aligned with industry and federal guidelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, or a related field.
• 3–7 years of hands-on experience delivering AI/ML solutions.
• Experience with generative AI, LLMs, tool calls, and agentic frameworks.
• Experience with AI APIs including OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, and Bedrock.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and Python, with familiarity with relevant AI, web, testing, and data libraries.
• Experience with AWS or GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and AI coding tools; U.S. Citizenship and DoD Secret clearance eligibility required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Terraform, OpenTofu, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.
• Knowledge of federal cybersecurity, RMF, FedRAMP, or related regulatory frameworks.
• Exposure to data engineering, data science, UI/UX, cloud engineering, or platform engineering.
