Lead Data Analyst– Investment Data Strategy

Location: Washington, D.C. or Baltimore, Maryland, United States. Hybrid work is available, with up to three days per week from home.

Base salary: $135,000–$230,000 annually for Washington, D.C.; $122,000–$209,000 annually for Maryland, Colorado, Washington, and remote workers. Additional discretionary bonus may be available.

What you will do

• Define and promote the strategic vision for investment data capabilities across the organization.
• Analyze investment datasets, workflows, and business processes to identify quality, lineage, integrity, and operational issues.
• Drive adoption of enterprise data architecture principles, standards, governance frameworks, and reusable data services.
• Develop process flows, conceptual architectures, capability models, UML diagrams, and solution designs.
• Partner with portfolio managers, traders, research analysts, quants, data engineers, architects, and technology leaders.
• Translate complex investment processes into scalable data and technology solutions through agile delivery teams.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in business analysis, data strategy, data architecture, product strategy, investment technology, or a related discipline.
• Experience in asset management, investment management, hedge funds, wealth management, capital markets, or related financial services.
• Strong knowledge of front-office investment workflows and investment data.
• Experience working with portfolio managers, traders, research analysts, risk teams, or quantitative teams.
• Experience defining business capabilities, operating models, strategic roadmaps, and leading complex cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong project management, stakeholder management, analytical, and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Advanced SQL and Python experience for data analysis and prototyping.
• Experience with data warehouses, analytical platforms, relational data modeling, data quality, metadata, lineage, and governance.
• Experience creating UML diagrams, process flows, and architecture documentation.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, and related Agile delivery tools.
