Director, Investment Data & Analytics (AI)

Location: Onsite in Addison, TX; Montpelier, VT; or New York, NY, with office attendance four days per week on Monday through Thursday.

Salary: $75,000–$110,000 USD per year, plus potential incentive compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the investment data ecosystem across accounting inputs, classification frameworks, data warehouse layers, reporting, and analytics.
• Define data standards, business definitions, lineage, governance controls, exception management, and source-level remediation.
• Manage investment accounting inputs and outputs, including asset setup, trades, corporate actions, pricing, analytics feeds, and reconciliations with custodian records.
• Serve as the investment team product owner for the data warehouse, prioritizing requirements and representing business needs in architecture decisions.
• Partner with IT and vendors on feed onboarding, ETL design, warehouse changes, automation, user acceptance testing, and data certification.
• Provide analysis-ready data for investment committee, Board, risk, ALM, credit, regulatory, statutory, and rating agency reporting while coaching analysts and leading modernization initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
• 7–10+ years of experience in investment data management, investment operations, or investment accounting, including meaningful experience with an insurance company general account or insurance asset manager.
• Strong AI background with the ability to use AI to improve efficiency and solve business problems.
• Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with data warehouses and ETL processes.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Power Query skills, with experience building controlled, repeatable data processes.
• Experience with an institutional investment accounting or data platform such as Clearwater, Eagle/BNY, PAM, CAMRA, Aladdin, or Bloomberg AIM; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with public fixed income, private credit, structured products, mortgage loans, alternatives, and derivatives data.
• Knowledge of SSAP accounting treatment, NAIC designations, annual statement investment schedules, and RBC/capital reporting.
• Python, Power BI, Tableau, or comparable analytics tools.
• Experience leading data warehouse modernization or accounting system conversions.
• CFA, FRM, or progress toward a relevant designation.
