TL;DR
Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure R&D (MedTech) (C#/.NET, Azure, IoT): Building high-performance on-device medical applications and cloud-connected services for telemetry, command and control, remote diagnostics, and over-the-air updates with an accent on secure device connectivity, concurrency, and regulated medical software. Focus on designing Windows edge applications, implementing device-to-cloud architectures, and validating reliable software through testing, observability, cybersecurity, and regulatory traceability.

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid work with the ability to work in Boston and up to 10% business travel.

Base pay: $92,000–$148,350 per year.

What you will do

  • Build production-grade on-device applications and services in C#/.NET for embedded Windows targets.
  • Develop concurrent, multithreaded components using REST APIs, relational databases, and SQLite.
  • Design secure device-to-cloud connectivity for telemetry, command routing, remote diagnostics, and over-the-air updates.
  • Build cloud-connected backends and integrations in Azure, including Functions, App Service, and containers.
  • Drive quality through unit, integration, system, and hardware-in-the-loop testing, profiling, observability, and CI/CD.
  • Contribute to regulatory documentation and traceability, lead design and code reviews, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong full-stack C#/.NET skills, object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and database operations.
  • Experience with embedded Windows targets, device controllers, peripherals, networking, TLS, certificates, and resilient IoT connectivity.
  • Experience across the full software development lifecycle in a regulated environment, including requirements, testing, traceability, release, and maintenance.
  • Ability to work in Boston and travel as required; up to 10% business travel may be required.

Nice to have

  • AI-driven development experience.
  • WPF or C++/Qt Windows application development.
  • Regulated medical device software experience, including IEC 62304 and FDA cybersecurity guidance.
  • Polarion, JAMA, Python, script-based testing, or test automation experience.
