Principal Software Developer (MedTech)

Salary: $103,600–$176,400 annually, with potential discretionary bonuses and long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Define the long-term technical roadmap, architectural strategy, engineering standards, and technology adoption.
• Make critical design decisions, establish quality gates, and manage performance budgets.
• Prototype foundational systems, conduct high-level code reviews, and resolve high-risk architectural challenges.
• Design scalable integrations with hospital information systems such as Epic using service-oriented and event-driven architecture.
• Guide the development of secure REST APIs and architectures supporting multi-facility data exchange.
• Mentor engineers and manage technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and architectural risks while aligning technology with regulatory and commercial objectives.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in a Principal or Architect role.
• Expert-level C# or comparable object-oriented languages such as Java or Python.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, domain-driven design, CI/CD, event-driven and service-oriented architecture, high availability, containerization, SQL, and NoSQL.
• Cloud and infrastructure experience with AWS services including ECS, EKS, RDS, Lambda, S3, SQS, and CloudFormation, plus Terraform.
• Security and compliance experience with OWASP practices, OIDC, SAML2, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and HIPAA.
• Experience shipping complex products, communicating technical concepts to engineers and executives, and maintaining scalable, reliable architectures.
