Equipment Maintenance Technician (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Malta, New York, USA. Onsite work in a semiconductor cleanroom at a 24/7 manufacturing facility, with alternating 12-hour day or night shifts.

Salary: $43,100–$70,600 per year, depending on qualifications, experience, and location.

What you will do

• Monitor, sustain, and improve semiconductor manufacturing equipment and assigned process areas.
• Schedule and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on assigned tool sets.
• Use mechanical, electronic, and computer skills to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
• Monitor, control, and test equipment for manufacturing readiness and recover tools after process interruptions.
• Document events, complete end-of-shift pass-downs, and communicate equipment status to lead technicians and engineers.
• Follow Fab 8 environmental, health, safety, and security procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus either a two-year technical degree, two years of relevant military experience, or four years of relevant technical experience.
• English fluency in written and verbal communication is required.
• Basic reading, writing, computer navigation, Windows, Microsoft Office, and Outlook skills.
• Ability to work any assigned day or night shift in an alternating 12-hour schedule.
• Ability to work in a cleanroom for extended periods while wearing required cleanroom clothing and upgraded PPE.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, crouch, use hand tools, work with computers, and lift equipment and tools; loads above 50 pounds require a two-person lift.

Nice to have

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in engineering technology, a trade, or military service.
• Four or more years of direct semiconductor manufacturing experience.
• Experience reading schematics, blueprints, and electrical diagrams.
• Experience with statistical process control, structured problem-solving, project management, and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
