VP, Assistant General Counsel (Healthcare)

What you will do

• Lead commercial contracting, vendor management, and platform-wide commercial operations legal matters.
• Develop and execute contracting strategy, vendor governance frameworks, risk standards, templates, playbooks, and fallback positions.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage master services agreements, statements of work, supply agreements, vendor contracts, strategic alliances, technology agreements, marketing arrangements, and leases.
• Implement and oversee contract lifecycle management processes covering terms, obligations, renewals, and compliance.
• Support M&A, practice acquisitions, commercial integrations, vendor assignments, novations, and new practice onboarding.
• Build and lead a high-performing team of attorneys and legal professionals while advising senior leaders across the business.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and active membership in a state or DC bar.
• 12+ years of relevant legal experience, with significant in-house experience strongly preferred.
• Senior-level ownership of commercial contracting and vendor management, including complex agreement drafting, negotiation, and lifecycle management.
• Experience leading legal teams or department functions in a VP, Senior Counsel, or equivalent role.
• Healthcare industry experience is required; MSO, physician practice management, specialty pharmacy, or related healthcare services experience is strongly preferred.
• Expertise in healthcare commercial regulations, including AKS, Stark Law, group purchasing safe harbors, fair market value, and HIPAA considerations.

Nice to have

• Experience with group purchasing organizations, exclusive vendor programs, or similar healthcare commercial structures.
• Experience supporting M&A transactions and commercial integration of acquired entities.
• Familiarity with CLM platforms and legal operations best practices.
