TL;DR
Associate General Counsel - Legal Services - Full Time (Healthcare): Providing legal counsel across healthcare system operations, contracts, regulatory compliance, patient care, corporate transactions, and employment matters with an accent on healthcare fraud and abuse laws, complex agreements, and hospital regulations. Focus on negotiating clinical and commercial contracts, addressing Stark Law and Anti-Kickback requirements, supporting investigations and audits, and managing legal review processes.

Location: Manchester, NH, United States; Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

What you will do

  • Provide legal counsel on healthcare operations, clinical and business activities, facilities, personnel, corporate transactions, employment matters, medical staff issues, licensing, and investigations.
  • Respond to legal and regulatory matters involving patient care, advance directives, guardianships, probate, subpoenas, search warrants, involuntary emergency admissions, and patient consent.
  • Review, negotiate, and revise complex clinical, software, consulting, physician employment, and other commercial contracts.
  • Draft and review policies addressing state and federal laws, regulatory requirements, and CMS Conditions of Participation.
  • Support compliance activities involving billing and coding, government and payer audits, whistleblower protections, healthcare fraud and abuse, HIPAA, and HITECH.
  • Manage contract review staff and processes, support paralegal oversight, collaborate with outside counsel, provide legal training, and participate in ethics committees.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in at least one state and eligibility for admission to the New Hampshire Bar.
  • At least seven years of experience as a practicing attorney.
  • Demonstrated interest in health law and relevant healthcare, litigation, regulatory, labor and employment, or corporate experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of state and federal healthcare fraud and abuse laws, particularly the Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statute.
  • Extensive knowledge of contracts, corporate and commercial law, and healthcare and hospital law.
