Legal Counsel - Healthcare Regulatory Counsel

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; hybrid working model with work from home and on-site presence at client or hirify.global offices. Client-facing travel is required as needed.

Salary: $145,000–$159,250 annually, plus potential bonus incentives, cost-of-living adjustment, leave, insurance, and retirement benefits.

What you will do

• Advise stakeholders, business leaders, project teams, and clients on healthcare regulatory matters affecting engagements, products, services, and strategic initiatives.
• Prepare, review, revise, and negotiate regulatory provisions in services, vendor, licensing, and other legal agreements.
• Provide guidance on HIPAA, the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark law, the False Claims Act, and FDA regulations.
• Evaluate regulatory risk and identify legal issues related to proposed services, recommending appropriate actions.
• Investigate, research, advise on, and resolve legal matters affecting day-to-day operations.
• Collaborate with commercial attorneys, compliance professionals, business leaders, client teams, and other subject-matter experts.

Requirements

• JD degree with a strong academic background.
• 5+ years of experience handling U.S. healthcare regulatory matters.
• Active Illinois bar admission or registration as in-house counsel in Illinois.
• Experience negotiating agreements, with strong drafting, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage long-term projects independently, prioritize deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in English and authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
