Pharmacy/Admixture Technician Sr.- Dallas Presbyterian

Location: Dallas, Texas; onsite at the Dallas Presbyterian location. Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; no weekends, call, or major holidays.

What you will do

• Prepare medication orders by compounding and admixing medications under the supervision of a physician or registered pharmacist.
• Verify order completeness, patient information, physician authorization, dosage volumes, and metric-to-apothecary conversions.
• Prepare chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy IV medications accurately and on time while following department, OSHA, state, federal, and USP requirements.
• Maintain controlled-substance records, temperature logs, protocol and assistance-drug logs, and other required documentation.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, including quantities, lot numbers, expiration dates, ordering, labeling, data entry, and pre-billing review.
• Clean and maintain hoods and admixture areas, dispose of mixing materials safely, and complete quality assurance activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and pharmacy experience.
• For the senior level: at least five years of pharmacy experience with IV skills.
• Experience with IV sterile compounding is highly preferred; oncology experience or extensive IV preparation experience is preferred for the senior level.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician certification is recommended unless required by state law; IV certification is preferred.
• An ASHP-accredited or community college-based pharmacy program is recommended for the senior level.
• Ability to perform extended periods of sitting and standing, read measurements, and occasionally lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
