Head of Enterprise Architecture & Innovation, MD (AI)

Location: 333 Bush St. Suite 2700, San Francisco, United States

Salary: $260,000–$285,000 base salary annually, excluding annual incentives and benefits.

What you will do

• Define and enforce enterprise architecture standards across cloud, platform engineering, data, AI, and application delivery.
• Run the Architecture Review Board as a mandatory governance gate with authority to block non-compliant designs.
• Develop reference architectures and maintain standards for cloud infrastructure, data integration, applications, AI systems, security, and approved platforms.
• Define AI architecture guardrails for models, data handling, access controls, auditability, safety, agentic AI systems, LLM integrations, and automation pipelines.
• Own AWS cloud governance, landing zone standards, cloud adoption strategy, cost governance, and technology rationalization.
• Lead innovation validation, develop pilot-to-production practices, advise executives and the board, and lead a multidisciplinary solutions architecture team.

Requirements

• 15+ years of progressive technology experience, including at least 5 years in enterprise architecture leadership.
• Experience in a regulated financial institution such as banking, insurance, capital markets, or financial services.
• Demonstrated experience operating an enterprise Architecture Review Board with enforcement authority.
• Enterprise-scale cloud architecture experience, preferably with AWS, plus knowledge of microservices, API design, data integration, and security architecture.
• Experience defining AI/ML architecture standards and governing production AI systems.
• Strong executive communication, board presentation, architecture governance, and influence-based leadership skills.

Nice to have

• TOGAF 9 or 10 certification.
• Experience with a Federal Home Loan Bank, GSE, or similar federally regulated institution.
• Familiarity with FHFA examinations and regulatory technology expectations.
• Experience governing agentic AI or LLM architectures in regulated environments.
• Experience with Calypso architecture or an advanced degree in a related field.
