E&S Sr. Brokerage Underwriter/ E&S Brokerage Underwriting Specialist (Hybrid)

Location: Scottsdale, Arizona, United States; hybrid work arrangement. Travel represents approximately 15% of working time.

Salary: USD $87,000–$113,000 per year.

What you will do

• Manage and underwrite E&S Brokerage new business submissions within company authority, underwriting standards, and profitability goals.
• Gather and evaluate risk exposure, select and price individual risks, prepare documentation, and provide quotes.
• Manage an agency book of business, monitor premium retention, and analyze profit and growth trends by territory and agency.
• Partner with Managing General Agents, renewal staff, regional teams, and internal departments to grow and maintain a profitable book of business.
• Provide underwriting guidance and timely responses to agents, resolve transactions, and communicate underwriting decisions and appetite.
• Mentor lower-level associates and provide technical advice on industry information, products, competitors, and underwriting practices.

Requirements

• 7+ years of E&S underwriting experience preferred.
• Proficiency with desktop tools, automated underwriting systems, and email systems.
• Strong communication skills with internal and external customers and peers.
• Valid state-issued driver's license in good standing and ability to drive an automobile.
• College degree preferred.
• Ability to work in a changing environment and follow insurance laws, regulations, rating manuals, and underwriting guidelines.

• Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.
• Associate in Surplus Lines (ASLI) designation.
• Associate in General Insurance (AINS) designation.
