E&S Sr. Brokerage Underwriter/E&S Brokerage Underwriting Specialist (Hybrid)

Salary: USD $87,000–$168,000 per year

What you will do

• Manage and underwrite E&S Brokerage new business in line with company goals, authority guidelines, underwriting rules, insurance laws, and regulations.
• Analyze risk exposure, evaluate hazards, apply coverage forms and rating plans, classify risks, and prepare accurate pricing and risk documentation.
• Manage agency submissions, open quotes, renewals, and assigned books of business to support profitable growth and retention.
• Provide underwriting decisions, guidance, and solutions to General Agents and internal departments while maintaining high service quality.
• Analyze profit, growth, premium retention, territory, and agency performance; prepare management reports and recommendations.
• Build collaborative relationships, work with regional teams, and mentor lower-level associates on underwriting knowledge.

Requirements

• Proficiency with supplied desktop tools, including automated underwriting and email systems.
• Effective communication with internal and external customers and peers.
• Ability to adapt to change as the company advances its strategic vision.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license in good standing and ability to drive an automobile; travel is approximately 15% of the time.
• 7+ years of E&S underwriting experience preferred.
• Ability to apply underwriting rules, rating manual rules, coverage forms, pricing standards, and insurance regulations.

• Insurance designations such as CPCU, ASLI, or AINS.
