Underwriting Manager Sr, Excess & Surplus Lines

What you will do

• Lead and develop a regional team of underwriters.
• Underwrite risks and profitably grow the Excess & Surplus property portfolio across target business segments.
• Underwrite primary, shared, layered, and excess placements while maintaining a balanced portfolio.
• Review and negotiate manuscript forms, policy wordings, and coverage terms.
• Build and execute P&L management strategy and share underwriting practices across the United States.
• Collaborate with internal teams, wholesale trading partners, Property leadership, and Lexington and hirify.global-wide transformation initiatives.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in Commercial Property E&S underwriting.
• Ability to underwrite property risks across the full range of E&S Property business while setting direction for the team and maintaining portfolio balance.
• Strong understanding of current market conditions; ability to make quick decisions, turn around quotes, and manage multiple prospects simultaneously.
• Strong leadership skills, including career development, coaching, and mentoring of direct reports and other subordinates.
• Ability to collaborate with regional Property leadership peers and contribute to a nationally recognized Lexington team and culture.
• Ability to take on senior leadership responsibilities beyond daily management and underwriting, including cross-divisional collaboration and supporting a diverse and inclusive culture.
