What you will do

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for oncology patients and their families.
  • Initiate and document interventions, prescribe therapies as indicated, and evaluate patient responses.
  • Perform procedures with minimal supervision and provide patient and family education.
  • Support prevention, screening, case management, wellness, and palliative care across the oncology care continuum.
  • Incorporate evidence-based research and clinical trial information into practice.
  • Document medical records and patient charges while maintaining regulatory and compliance standards.

Requirements

  • For Nurse Practitioners: an accredited MSN and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
  • For Physician Assistants: completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and current NCCPA certification.
  • Current state licensure for the applicable practicing role; Nurse Practitioners also need RN licensure and registration with the State Board of Nursing.
  • Typically at least three years of experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, preferably in oncology.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification is required.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of patient care, including standing, walking, and occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds.

Nice to have

  • Oncology experience.
  • AOCNP certification for Nurse Practitioners.
