Application Support Specialist (Insurance)

Location: Sparks, MD, United States

Salary: $64,800–$88,000 annual

What you will do

• Support and troubleshoot integrations, APIs, data feeds, and business applications across underwriting, claims, CRM, and captive insurance platforms.
• Monitor application performance, data quality, and scheduled processes.
• Write SQL queries and reports to validate data, investigate issues, and support business needs.
• Administer user access, application configurations, and technical documentation.
• Partner with business and technology teams to resolve incidents and improve system efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years of experience in application support, systems support, or integrations.
• Working knowledge of SQL and data validation principles.
• Experience supporting policy administration, claims, risk management, or insurance platforms.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with commercial lines, property and casualty, or captive insurance environments.
• Knowledge of Salesforce, Origami Risk, Guidewire, Vertafore, Boomi, Jira, or Confluence.
