R&D Applications Specialist (Biotech)

Location: Hybrid role based in Somerset, New Jersey, United States. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and complete Form I-9 and E-Verify verification.

Salary: $96,267–$126,351 USD annually, plus performance-based bonus and/or equity for eligible roles.

What you will do

• Administer, maintain, and enhance laboratory applications, including Blue Mountain RAM and LabVantage LIMS/ELN.
• Configure systems, maintain master and static data, and execute controlled changes to support laboratory testing, investigations, CAPA activities, and product release.
• Troubleshoot instrument software, laboratory computers, instrument connectivity, user accounts, and scientific applications.
• Test system changes through dry runs, system testing, and user acceptance testing, and document change controls and qualification activities.
• Collaborate with laboratory, manufacturing, analytical support, and site/global IT teams to define and deliver system requirements.
• Support compliance inspections, SOP and work-instruction updates, ITSM incident tracking, root-cause analysis, and laboratory process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
• Understanding of laboratory science, preferably in cell therapy, and experience with GxP software administration and configuration.
• Experience installing, configuring, and supporting standalone or enterprise systems and applications in laboratory environments.
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and computer systems validation.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Jira, or similar platforms.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, organization, prioritization, and user-support skills, with a commitment to quality.
