Substation Electrical Engineering Intern (Physical)

Location: Saint Louis Park or Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States

Compensation: $25–$30 per hour

What you will do

• Support the physical design of electrical substations.
• Create and modify substation physical drawings and markups.
• Specify major equipment and assist with equipment procurement.
• Complete AC/DC system calculations based on current and future loads.
• Apply industry-standard engineering tools, techniques, and procedures under the supervision of a Project Lead or Project Manager.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate engineering program.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Commitment to active participation in an employee-owned culture.
• Preference for candidates local to the role location.

Nice to have

• Two years completed toward an engineering degree.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Knowledge of software packages related to engineering or the power industry.
