Senior Director, R&D HR Business Partnering (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Austin, Texas; relocation assistance is provided for candidates willing to relocate to Austin.

What you will do

• Lead a global team of embedded HRBPs supporting senior executives across Engineering, Product, Security, and Research.
• Align R&D talent strategy with product roadmaps, platform architecture, and operational goals.
• Coordinate People Team Centers of Excellence to deliver integrated talent programs for R&D.
• Design agile, high-velocity R&D structures and help leaders adapt to AI-assisted, agent-driven engineering.
• Develop technical career frameworks, leveling, succession plans, critical-role maps, and retention strategies.
• Lead continuous change initiatives and coach senior technical leaders through complex organizational dynamics.

Requirements

• 15+ years of progressive HR experience.
• 5+ years leading an HRBP team supporting technical R&D, Engineering, or Product organizations in high-growth environments.
• Expertise in business acumen, organizational design, talent portfolio management, and change leadership.
• Understanding of how AI tools reshape technical workflows, combined with strong human judgment and character assessment.
• Experience coordinating executive stakeholders with specialized People functions to deliver integrated talent solutions.
• Ability to advise, challenge, and coach VP-level and more senior technical leaders with confidence, empathy, and business fluency.
