Commercial Manager

Location: Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Omaha, Overland Park, Phoenix, or Seattle, United States. Four days per week are worked in the office, with flexibility to work outside the office on Fridays.

Salary: $145,000–$165,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Develop project-specific risk roadmaps that align contract terms, commercial strategy, and execution plans.
• Identify, communicate, and evaluate commercial, contractual, design, and delivery risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Partner with project managers, client leaders, and legal counsel on variations and requests for additional services.
• Provide guidance and education to strengthen commercial awareness and risk-conscious decision-making.
• Drive firmwide improvements to the consistency, efficiency, and effectiveness of commercial execution.
• Collaborate with project teams, commercial leadership, and legal partners to promote commercial discipline and risk literacy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 10 years of commercial management experience in the design and construction industry.
• Experience with large, complex projects exceeding $500 million in construction cost.
• Deep understanding of contract structures, commercial terms, project delivery workflows, and risk allocation.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, prioritization, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and Bluebeam.
