Underwriting Specialist, National Accounts, Foreign Casualty (Insurance)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; primarily in the office

Base salary: $110,000–$130,000 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus under the applicable incentive plan.

What you will do

• Own goals and outcomes for the Foreign Casualty team.
• Oversee underwriting programs and processes and handle complex underwriting.
• Balance stakeholder needs and make data-driven decisions using analysis, experience, judgment, and a risk mindset.
• Build broker relationships, provide high-quality customer service, and support new business development through broker events and market networking.
• Mentor and develop colleagues through role modeling and training, while supporting succession planning and career development.

Requirements

• Proven underwriting experience in WorldRisk and/or Foreign Casualty, with a successful record of selling products to clients.
• Deep technical expertise in North American casualty lines, including Environmental, Excess or Primary Casualty, NA Auto, WC, AL, GL, DBA, and Foreign Casualty.
• Knowledge of product features, policy forms, regulatory environments, and associated risks.
• Ability to analyze financial statements.
• Strong communication, networking, relationship-building, organization, and time-management skills.
• Customer- and sales-oriented behavior with a proactive, technically skilled, tenacious, and accountable approach.
