Utilities & Facility Engineer

Location: Industrial manufacturing plants in Parma and the province of Reggio Emilia, Italy; regular travel between both sites is required

What you will do

• Manage and optimize utilities including thermal power plants, compressed air systems, fluid and gas distribution networks, and cooling water systems.
• Maintain the reliability of critical assets such as chillers and industrial burners while minimizing downtime.
• Plan and supervise facility maintenance for buildings, yards, auxiliary structures, and plant roofing, including budget management.
• Analyze electricity, gas, and water consumption and lead energy-efficiency and decarbonization projects.
• Manage suppliers, maintenance contracts, on-site works, KPIs, budgets, progress verification, and invoice validation.
• Lead the digitalization of utilities and facility maintenance registers, certifications, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Industrial Management, Civil Engineering, or Environmental Engineering.
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience as a Facility or Utilities Engineer or Manager in a complex industrial manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of thermal systems, compressed air systems, refrigeration plants, and industrial burners.
• Ability to read P&ID diagrams, electrical schematics, and CAD layouts; knowledge of the PED Directive, fire-safety regulations, and energy management frameworks such as ISO 50001.
• Proficient spoken and written English is required for documentation and communication with international partners and vendors.
• Category B driving licence and availability for regular travel between the Parma and Reggio Emilia sites are required.
