Project Manager, K-12 Education

Location: Des Moines, Iowa, United States; four days in the office with flexibility to work elsewhere on Fridays.

What you will do

• Oversee one or more K-12 education projects, including scope, schedules, budgets, fees, quality, and design excellence.
• Develop project plans covering schedules, milestones, staffing, deliverables, and submittals.
• Lead interdisciplinary project teams and coordinate clients, vendors, consultants, and external partners.
• Support business development through RFQ, RFP, interview, scope, fee, and agreement processes.
• Communicate project status, manage client-directed changes, identify adjustments, and propose solutions.
• Provide team leadership and feedback, contribute to recruitment, and collaborate with design leaders across project phases.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or interior design.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years as a project manager.
• Proficiency in Vantagepoint, Planifi, INDEPRO, Microsoft Suite, and Microsoft Project.
• High proficiency in standard architecture, engineering, interiors, planning, and building optimization software.
• Working knowledge of design techniques, technical plans, drawings, models, sustainable design principles, and local building and zoning codes.
• Strong written, verbal, and graphic communication skills with the ability to multitask while maintaining quality standards. A current portfolio or work samples in PDF format is required for consideration.
