Project Manager (K-12 Construction)

Location: Los Angeles, California, United States; full-time, on-site construction project management role.

Compensation: $128,067.17–$146,362.48 per year

What you will do

• Manage the full lifecycle of K-12 construction projects, including planning, design, execution, close-out, and handover.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and financial reports.
• Lead project teams and coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, school districts, authorities, and community stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning laws, environmental standards, permits, and on-site safety requirements.
• Identify and mitigate risks, resolve construction issues, and document changes to scope, schedule, and budget.
• Monitor quality, conduct site visits and inspections, and coordinate punch lists and final project documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of construction project management experience, preferably in K-12 or institutional facilities.
• Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders, including budgeting, scheduling, contracts, and school construction grant funding procedures.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, site development, building codes, safety regulations, risk management, and environmental sustainability.
• Leadership, communication, organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore or Buildertrend and Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice to have

• Project Management Professional (PMP), LEED AP, or similar professional certification.
