Civil Engineer (Civil 3D)

Location: Toronto or Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada, with project sites across North America and potential attendance at job sites.

Compensation: CAD 86,009–122,870 per year for Toronto/Richmond Hill.

What you will do

• Design general civil infrastructure, including site layouts, grading, drainage, paving, roadways, and site utilities.
• Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed civil design packages with drawings, quantities, specifications, and contract documents.
• Complete grading, drainage, roadway, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and watermain designs in Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Coordinate civil designs with multidisciplinary project teams and assist project managers with day-to-day project coordination.
• Perform quantity calculations, feasibility studies, and complex engineering assignments using judgment in selecting and adapting design techniques.
• Support design and construction activities at job sites and supervise a small team of professionals and technicians as needed.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in municipal infrastructure design using Civil 3D.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the position’s location, such as PE or P.Eng.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, and utility modeling for gravity and pressure pipes.
• Knowledge of site civil and road design practices, TAC Geometric Design Guide, and applicable provincial and municipal standards.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, independent working, teamwork, and Microsoft Office skills.

Nice to have

• MicroStation and OpenRoads experience.
• Experience with municipal and provincial clients in Ontario.
• Experience with feasibility studies.
