Control Room Operator

Location: Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA; onsite plant operations with 12-hour rotating shifts

Salary: $33.22–$44.18 per hour

What you will do

• Execute approved plant start-up and shutdown procedures to support safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant operations.
• Monitor operational systems and oversee boiler, turbine, and auxiliary equipment performance.
• Guide Crane, Auxiliary, and Back Plant Operators during routine and critical operations.
• Respond to operational alarms and take immediate corrective action.
• Manage emergencies, prioritize tasks, and provide clear operational, safety, and environmental direction.
• Read blueprints, P&IDs, and schematic specifications while applying operational best practices and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of the ASME QRO Provisional Licensing exam within the first year is required.
• Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
• Ability to walk, stand, sit, climb, and lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to qualify for and wear a full-face respirator.
