Powerhouse - Control Room Operator

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States; onsite at the South Boston Manufacturing Center

Salary: $54.21–$60.55 per hour, plus shift differential; approximately $113,000–$126,000 per year as stated in the posting

hirify.global is an American multinational consumer goods company whose South Boston Manufacturing Center houses the Gillette World Shaving Headquarters and produces shaving products including Mach 3, Fusion, Labs, and Venus.

What you will do

• Operate and maintain critical power-generation and utility equipment in the manufacturing center.
• Run a 7.2 MW co-generation combined-cycle system, steam turbines, boilers, chillers, compressed-air systems, vacuum systems, and process-water systems.
• Operate and maintain water-treatment systems.
• Perform permit-compliance testing.
• Take ownership of shift operations and equipment while supporting production flow, performance goals, and product quality.

Requirements

• Current Commonwealth of Massachusetts Second-Class Engineering License; license requirements must be maintained.
• At least 3 years of experience operating and/or maintaining major power-plant equipment.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education, and age 18 or older.
• Experience with compressed-air systems, chillers, turbines, boilers, reverse osmosis, seawater/process-water, and wastewater systems.
• Willingness to work any assigned shift, including weekends, rotating shifts of 8–12 hours, and possible overtime.
• Ability to use hand and power tools, lift 50 pounds, climb stairs, ladders, and platforms, enter confined spaces, and stand on concrete floors for extended periods.
